概要
You pick a dish, fill the tray, place the order, watch the rider set off. Then nothing comes, and nothing is charged. That is the whole idea.
What stays is a number: the money you did not spend, written on your device and nowhere else.
This is for people who open a delivery app out of reflex rather than hunger. It will not try to convince you to spend less — you already know that. It just gives the craving somewhere to go.
Frequently asked questions
What is a dopamine site?
Sites that reproduce the full shopping experience with no transaction behind it. The trend started in South Korea in late March 2026 and spread internationally through June and July. You pick items, fill a cart, place an order — then the screen tells you plainly that nothing is coming.
What is a pretend order?
An order that goes through every step of a real one — pick a dish, choose options, review the tray, tap checkout, follow the rider — with no restaurant receiving it and no money moving. Every venue here is fictional.
Really nothing gets delivered?
Correct. No real restaurant is connected to this, no order is passed to anyone, and there is no path by which food arrives at your door from here.
Will I be charged?
No. There is no card field anywhere in the product, no payment processor, and no stored card. There never was one. Every amount shown is play money.
What does the ledger number mean?
It adds up the simulated prices of the dishes you picked across your pretend orders. We deliberately call it money not spent rather than money saved: the second phrasing assumes that without this you would definitely have ordered for real, and nothing proves that.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. No account, no login, no identifier. The ledger lives in your browser storage. The only thing sent to a server is a plus one on a shared counter, carrying nothing about you — no id, no cookie, no device fingerprint.
Why are there no notifications?
Because a notification is a cue the product manufactures. The whole idea is to leave your existing cues alone and change only the behaviour in between. Sending notifications would manufacture cravings rather than redirect the ones already there. This product never contacts you first.
Why does the streak never reset?
Ordinary streaks run on loss aversion — they work precisely because breaking one feels bad. A product meant to help you out of a compulsive loop cannot run on another compulsive loop. The counter here only goes up. Come back after three weeks and it is exactly where you left it.
Is this a medical tool?
No. It does not treat, heal, or intervene in any clinical condition. It is a ritual that costs nothing, and that is all. If eating or spending is affecting your life, talk to a qualified professional instead.
Could the simulation make cravings worse?
Possibly, for some people. Exposure to a cue without the reward can lead to extinction — or to escalation. It depends on the person, and this category of product is only a few months old, so there is no data yet. We would rather state the risk than hide it. If you notice you crave more after using this, it is not the right tool for you, and stopping is the correct response.
Why are calories off by default?
For most people a calorie count is a harmless joke. For someone with an eating disorder, a calorie number framed as a moral achievement is directly harmful. That is a safety decision, not a product decision. You can turn it on in Settings if you want it.
Does the ledger sync to the app?
No. With no account there is nothing to link the two records. The ledger you build on the web stays on the web. That is the cost of collecting nothing, and we chose to pay it.
